A new co-op offer for Generation Rent

Hey members,

This week’s update: a brand-new Roost opportunity in London ⤵️

All of us in the Roost team will one day live in Roost Homes. 🐓 Born into ‘generation rent’, we know all too well the impacts of the housing crisis. And we’ve seen it all: slugs, rats, mould, mushrooms and deposit-snatching - to name just a few. So, we’re going to fix it. And we’re not slowing down until we’ve put 1 million homes into community ownership.

But we need your support. Can you chip in a few pounds to help us reach our crowdfunder target?

A huge thanks to everyone who’s supported the crowdfund so far - we’ve raised 16% of our target. 🎉 With your help we’ll be able to:

  • Release our app - it’ll help you find suitable homes for co-ops

  • Serve our growing waiting list - supporting more people in more places

Bromyard House

We spend most of our time using Roost to complete property searches for people on our waiting list. If we haven’t spoken yet, book a call!

Over the weekend, we noticed that 10 homes had come up in the same historic West London building. They range from 1 to 5 beds, and would cost from £700 to £2000 per person, per month. If we can turn them into a co-op.

Bromyard House was built to house the Ministry of Pensions. At the time, it was the largest single building in the UK! It is steeped in history, well connected and has a communal garden alongside a short walk to Acton Park. If you can imagine moving into Bromyard House, let us know - we are booking viewings for our members.

Can we get these homes into community ownership?

Thanks so much,

Andrew & Ben
